How to export data from SCTA test results to a Microsoft Excel
worksheet:
- Go to Test results.
- Choose Export from the File menu. A dialogue box will appear to ask
where to save the file, in text format and under which name.
- Just import the text format into a Microsoft Excel worksheet.
Once in the worksheet you can proceed with calculations, statistics,
etc.
How to save a subgroup of students who gave the " Wrong answers
":
- Select the stations with the " wrong answers ".
- Click on Edit Subgroup. Chose an unused subgroup color button.
- Click on Edit Subgroup again.
You now have a specific subgroup containing students who had problems
answering that question.
How to pass directly from Scan Mode to Individual Mode:
- Simply press the Listen or Pause button
To get back to Scan Mode
How to monitor discretely:
In Scan mode
- From Options menu, chose the Listen option for Audio Preference
How to create an independent team:
With the SCVI you can use the Flex mode to have students work together
while you do something else.
- In Flex mode, simply select the students who will work together. The
first selected student will control the video/keyboard source, while the
others will receive it.
Remember Flex and Teamwork are the only modes that the teacher is not
part of by default.
- Flex attributes audio, keyboard and mouse control to a student.
He/she can therefore act as a team leader and show the others what he/she
is doing on the screen, as well as speak to them through the audio line.
How to make the audio line(s) available at all time and give them back
to the instructor when needed:
- If the options: Forum without teacher or Forum with teacher are
enabled, the audio line(s) will be available at all times to any
workstation that activates the Raised hand key.

To cancel that function, select Forum disabled.

When using the Forum without teacher option, the audio lines are
given on a first in, first out basis. The teacher station has the same
status as a student. To get an audio line, press on the Raised hand key on
your B-Box at the master station.
How to work with Quiz and Light Bulb questions:
- Prepare quiz questions on your screen.
- Send them via the Video Broadcast.
- Open your microphone.
- Enable Quiz or Light bulb question.
How to send instructor screen to the projector:
- Go to Individual mode, choose the station number button that
represents the projector.
- Click Toggle.
How to Blank instructor screen:
- Broadcast the screen of a station that doesn't exist
How to blank screen inside a team with the student terminal:
- Broadcast the screen of a station that doesn't belong to the team
How to work in Teamwork mode with a leader:
- If you have Teamwork capabilities with your SCVI or the complete
system with the C controller (video, audio and keyboard/mouse control) and
SC2000 T Student terminals, you can divide your class into teams and have
them work with leaders. These leaders have the same switching capabilities
as the master station. If you have teacher assistants (SCTA) in your class
this is an excellent way for them to practice being teachers. This is also
a good way to use your good students' potential.
How to allow some students to disconnect from the system to work on
their own:
- Simply create a subgroup with the students you
wish to include in your class. The others will be able to work on their
own and not be included in the switching operations.
When to use the Blank Screen option:
- For example, if you are giving a regular written test or exam to
your students and do not want them to be distracted by their screen, use
the Blank screen function.
Remember that your screen will not be blanked and you can work on your
computer while your students take the test.
